Princess Daybed by Nipa Doshi and Jonathan Levien

Last week, we got a very mixed reaction when we posted Nipa Doshi and Jonathan Levien's My Beautiful Backside Sofa. The design is just one part of the duo's new collection for Moroso. That other part is made up by Princess — a day bed with multiple mattresses inspired by The Princess and the Pea...

Detail (we believe that is a hairdryer icon!):

With five hand-embroidered mattresses, this design is colorful, whimsical and fun (though it does remind us a high-end find in the furniture department at Urban Outfitters). Nipa Doshi and Jonathan Levien's Princess should be available later this year from Moroso.

wouldn't they slide off each other making shifting difficult? I could see this as a dog bed maybe...if they hooked together and then the top pad could be removed and washed.

Love this! Do the mattresses come apart so you can host a bacchanalia? If so, it's a great way to have a lot of seating, with a fun dash of wit.

Aw, so cute. Does it come with the pea, or is it a BYOP situation?

It only supposed to have 5 mattresses. Shown with 5 extra, power of suggestion!

Looks lovely in the picture, but unless they are somehow fixed together, it would quickly get messy.

On one hand, I might finally get a good night's sleep. On the other hand, that damn grain of sand will have to be located, and that will mean shifting all 50 mattresses in order to locate it.

I swear, there are evil trolls that sneak into my home and place an extra-pointy grain of sand in my bed every day. And every night, I find it, with my hip or back or leg while trying to go to sleep.

Anyway, it looks cool, but couldn't you do the same thing with a lounge chair and a bunch of lounge chair pads?

BYOP! haha!

actually, this might come in handy if you have guests. you know, remove a few mattresses, give them to your friends, have a sleepover....
