This sofa appears in the new catalog from The Conran Shop and we're loving the unique mix of pattern. Though it is not yet visible on the The Conran Shop's website, we've tracked the design to Studio Edward Van Vliet — SEVV — an Amsterdam-based design firm...

Sofa looks nice but it already looks worn.

I wish I could mix patterns in such a successful manner...

before clicking through and seeing that the blue parts on the seat of each cushion were blue embroidery, i thought it looked like someone had sat down on each cushion with an inky rear end. not the look i'm going for in a couch that costs as much as a small car.

it looks like a thrift store sofa with some sheets wrapped around it. for that much money.... you could have a home full of amazing furniture that doesn't look like it was picked up off the curb.

I thought that it was a post about a thrift store find in need of re-upholstery; I'm with r/t the curb-find look of it; it almost looks dirty or ratty. 13K?! -maybe $13.00.

Typically, design is "top-down", whereby designers establish the trend and the masses follow. But sometimes it is "bottom-up", for example, the influence of hip-hop culture on high-fashion clothing, whereby 'the street' informs designers.
Right now, vintage eclectic is so hot that it's informing furniture design. I don't mind that sort of cultural feedback, but I usually find it a bit ironic and inauthentic.
In other words, mixing up vintage thrift-store pieces is so hot now that some designers are producing pieces that allow the rich to buy the style of starving artists. Ironic.

I'm more interested in the wall behind the sofa.

I do think the price is outrageous but aside from the messy top cushions I like it. If those were reupholstered in a more structured fabric that didn't look so rumpled I think it would look great.
