
We stopped in at the Cappellini showroom in Soho over the weekend and were reminded of just how much we love the Tate Chair, designed by Jasper Morrison.
The soft, rounded shape and the stackability makes this one a favorite.

A particular standout is the chair's cousin, the Hi-Pad: same shape but in a padded upholstery version. The ones at Cappellini are upholstered in colorful tweeds that we really warmed up to:

It begs the question though -- why not a Series 7 (from which it draws inspiration)? To me, the 7 looks more comdortable, has a more balaced shape, is a classic, and comes in more colours, so why go for a Tate chair?
The Series 7 is great, but I'm all for the padded version of the Tate chair which looks great upholstered. If you look at the pictures again, they kind of resemble tall bowler hats!
