Componibili by Anna Castelli Ferrieri

More tubular storage.. This ultra-saturated red Componibili storage unit, designed by Anna Castelli Ferrieri, is a modular system. It's available with one, two, or three cells and a tray that fits on top...

The tubular shape takes up a minimum amount of space. This is similar in concept to the Bellantonio Storage Tube we posted earlier this week. But the look couldn't be more different.

03-01-table.jpgThese can be used in the bathroom, as side/ bedside tables, or even at the office. Available on casters for extra mobility.

The Componibili has been in production for 30 years and is in the collection of the MoMA. Priced well, too, at $105 for the two-cell design and $145 for the three-cell.

This is a classic, and is among the classic pieces I covet. Some day, some day. It really is affordable--but only if you have some left over after the bills are paid. In our house, that's a rare one.

Are these the same ones that have been available at Kartell forever? I've seen them in white.

I've had a double model of this as my bedside cabinet since I was in high school 30 years ago. It was the first piece of furniture I ever selected and bought on my own. So I guess that's a testament to its durability. It was an innovative piece back then and now a post-modern classic.
