We saw one witty idea from Felix de Pass back in November. Now, here's another.
His words on this D.I.Y. shoe storage: Placed low down, this coat rack transforms and takes on a new function, it loses its language of a coat rack, and instead becomes a quirky but practical shoe storage solution that ties in with the surroundings in which it’s intended.

This is just brilliant.

Kudos, Felix, you're a genius!

Wow. I may have to give this a try! Or order the "Shoe Parking." I wish someone would come up with a pretty basket or box that could attach to the bottom of a metal front door. Then one could put shoes and slippers in that and it would take up no space at all.

I put in a single coat hook about knee height (below my coat hook) to hold umbrellas.. Works wonders.

Hm. Once that's full of dirty shoes displayed filthiest-side out (instead of one pair of never-worn white sneakers), I think it's going to look pretty unattractive.

I think this idea would work really well on the outside of my back door, for running shoes.
Oh, and Huntley, I totally agree with you.

The first thing I thought of when I saw it was Marcel Duchamp's The Trap.

looks terrible, also don't put leather shoes on those hooks they'll lose their shape.

I reckon this is a very clever idea... I would store my umbrella horizontally across that too!
