Good Questions: Campaign Chests?

2004_7_question mark.jpgDear AT,

Where can I find a "campaign chest". It could be vintage or new. I would prefer black with silver pulls but am open to all options.

Thank you, Mamper

Good question. Here is where we would look:

  • ABC Carpet (always a good start)
  • Bleecker Street Antique shops towards 7th ave. in West Village
  • Or this one from Ralph Lauren Home
  • Eron Jonson Antiques
  • Executive Antiques (Thanks, Mamper!) MGR

    Answering my own question...

I did a quick google for "'campaign chest' antique" and found this article on their origins...

They're basically sturdy chests of drawers meant for officers in the British Empire. They often had brass fittings and were made of teak.

Check out Williams-Sonoma's new home furnishings line. They have one.
