apartment therapy changing the world, one room at a time

Toilet Paper Wall by Gary Hutton Design

10.26.hutton.jpg

A wall of what? Toilet paper makes a neat wall/screen in this bathroom designed by Gary Hutton Design...

The wall at once stores lots of extra rolls and creates a screened partition in the bathroom. What a smart, good-looking idea.

This is a dream come true for me. Never will you be stuck on in the bathroom only to find that not one sheet of tp is left in the house.

who would think?

it looks so amazing and architectural!

i suppose you have to decide ahead of time if you're going to go with two-ply, extra large rolls, etc.

Like the wall! But I think I see one of those infamous glass doors. Hate those. I'm not sure when "minimal privacy" became a design goal.

Well that certainly solves the age old problem of being faced with an empty roll.

How does it look when you start pulling out rolls to actually use? Or you do you have to keep a closet full of additional TP to fill the holes?

I guess you decide whether you'll start from the top down or strategically remove rolls from the middle.

Love it. But keep kids away. Can you imagine the fun they'd have with all that tp?

Or a kitten! I'd pay to watch that.

Creative and brilliant concept! Not sure about the moisture in the room being sucked up by the paper, but hopefully it is enclosed with something to seal it off.

NO no no - It is nice to look at but that TP will be moist and dusty. Plus my OCD would never allow for one roll to be removed.

85 rolls of toilet paper... that's a lot of TP to get wet/moist/dusty and throw away.

Plus it would look like s**t (excuse the pun) as soon as you started removing the rolls for use.

If I had something like this I might have to start buying that colored Lenova T.P. to make some pretty patterns.

Side Note: I would NOT want to be the person who has to clean that Bathroom. Imagine how much Stainless Steel cleaner and chamois it would take to wipe it down each week. There would be after-shower spots EVERYWHERE!

Love it. Most likely they pull from that one row that has the 5 rolls around squat level

Where are all the people who are in such hysteria on another post today because storing towels over the toilet exposes them to the dreaded toilet spray? Why is none of the germ phobic crowd commenting HERE?

Seriously, this looks good but makes absolutely no sense and has no practical value so, ultimately, it is bad design.

Germ phobia is all that my head was concerned about. If those aren't actually sealed up in any way that's not apparent, but just left stacked up out in the open, then it's pretty gross.

Yes dust and yes, more significantly, splatter and spray from the toilet. It would just take one guy getting a little bit of an errant sideways stream to soak a couple dozen of those rolls with urine.

I like this. My toilet paper already gets damp and dusty in the cabinet under the sink.
