We just got in after fighting through torrential rain and standing with smiling strangers under awnings on Canal Street while we waited for a break. But is it us, or does the city seem quiet today?

The subway seemed really empty today. I think people took the 4 day weekend as an opportune time to start a weeklong vacation.
Enjoying an empty city is the next-best-thing to going on holiday.
There is a blissful lack of honking horns, that's for sure.
