We saw this new desk, the Indochine, in Currents last week and went looking for it. We were reminded of how good Conran really is (as well as how expensive) and thought to lay out three top picks for desks that are small in stature and offer the ability to hide themselves away:

The second one looks very similar to one that holdeverything sells for MUCH less.
This wood desk, chair and hutch "knocks together with a little mallet" it would probably knock apart as well. Moreover the whole package is $425.00 plus s&h.

From the same source, but made of covered bamboo and completely collapsible, another desk with a chair is $249.00 plus s&h.
I love these and will look at the others mentioned. The problem, as always, is where to put one's stuff! I have to use files and appreciate having them handy. Would that someone would come up with a sleek little number with loads of storage, room for a printer and scanner, and so on.
I'm with Terry regarding storage. So many desks are skin and bones unless you by a Baker. Has anyone seen a really smart looking black or 2 toned secretary desk? It must look good enough to "live " in a living room with other black furniture because that's the only space I have. Suggestions on where to look online would be most useful! Here's to good design-Good luck to all!
