Okay, plastic laminate is not exactly a favorite around here. For some, it's even a dealbreaker. When it comes to Formica vs. the more seamless look of Corian, Formica doesn't hold a candle. But there is a middle ground if Corian's too steep and Formica's too unattractive...
It's ColorCore by Formica. ColorCore is a plastic laminate just like you're accustomed to, except its core matches its surface instead of being that dark stuff of typical Formica. The advantage is that the seams -where you generally see a dark line - are the same color as the laminate surface. The look is much improved over typical Formica, but the performance is still hindered by hard-to-clean seams and possible delamination.
