Don't snooze, this is important! So you've got a toolbox and a nice cordless drill, what are you going to put IN the box? The first thing you need is a few hand tools that will allow you to take care of 95% of the projects you are going to tackle around the house. It is incredibly frustrating not to have a tool you need, so this list is designed to take care of almost every bit of that frustration. And it's only 8 items long!
- 1. 1 Hammer - I like a classic wood handled hammer.
- 2 Screwdrivers - You need a Philips head and a flat head screwdriver and if you want to combine the two like the one above that's fine. Personally, I like to have one of each, the old fashioned kind, but the kit does save space:
- 2 Adjustable Crescent Wrenches - You want two of these, one small and one medium sized. An 8 inch and a 10 inch will do you fine:
- 1 Tongue and Groove Plier - These funny looking things are incredibly useful and have the ability to open their mouths up and grab onto things that your regular pliers can't.
- 1 Slip Joint Plier - Just a basic 8 inch version will do you fine, but get yourself one with a rubber grip of some kind. They really help.
- 1 Needlenose Plier - I don't use this very often, but find it essential for any electrical work. The needlenose gets into tight spaces and the cutter will clip your wires.

These 8 tools are your basics and you don't need much more. However, there are a few specialty tools that are nice to have in a pinch and I'm going to put together a good list of materials that will round off your box. Stay tuned and get into our Cure which starts today!
