The Spoon Bathtub

Bathroom month wouldn't be complete with showcasing the Spoon Tub from Agape. A perennial fixture at Moss in Soho, the Spoon Tub was designed by G.P Benedini in 1998 out of Exmar, a composite of resin and quartz powder that has advanced heat retention...

To us the shape seems just about perfect for a modern tub, rather like the bottom half of an exotic egg.

Its shape promises the perfect amount of water distribution over the body for maximum relaxation. Robb Report

It comes with either a tap pillar or a hardware can be mounted on a wall. Price? Only $11,305 at Moss and Luminaire.

And it you like the Spoon, you should check out a newer version, The Spoon XL, which is much rounder and a bit bigger.

I have to say, that the wall color is making me salivate. Even more than the tub. Does anyone know what this paint is and where I can get it?

Try benjamin Moore Chili pepper 2004-20 flat, or Duron Roasted Red Pepper. They both are very close to each other and the color represented.. a deep vibrant red

I took a bath in one of these at a hotel -- the size and shape are very comfortable, but the tub was REALLY cold. It may have advanced heat retention, but it has advanced cold retention as well. If you start with a cold tub, and you pour the hottest water in, the water becomes lukewarm in a few minutes. You must then drain the tub and fill it again with hot water...by this time, the tub has warmed up enough to retain the heat.
