Modern Oenophiles Rejoice! The beautiful woodwork available from
Modern Cellar might inspire us to keep more than two bottles of wine on hand in our tiny apartment.
Modern Cellar began in 2005 when the founders responded to a lack of modern options in the oenophile market. In addition to custom storage and display,
Modern Cellar sells a selection of stand-by pieces. A sucker for walnut, we would choose the
Sporadic Wall Panel (shown above)...
Or with more space available the
Miranda Wine Credenza
Via
Stuff-ing.

Those storage systems where the bottle is held by the neck and stick out from a wall always trouble me. I can imagine myself tripping and getting a delightful cascade of broken glass and wasted vino. No thanks.
They look great, but better drink up... wine goes bad QUICKLY at room temperature!
It's still a great way to show off your collection, even if it does spoil. ;)
It's not a bad idea to fill it up just before a party or gathering and then return the full bottles to the cellar.
I love the sporadic wall panel. I will have to see if I can get my hands on that...
Pete,
How quick are we talking here? I haven't got anywhere to store wine, so I usually just try to drink it as quickly as possible... ;)
I had the same reaction, Pete. Sarah - most wine that is sold is meant to be consumed immediately. That said, I would use one of these to keep a few wines that I planned to have that week. It isn't a good method for serious storage (unless you plan to put one of these in your wine cellar).
Nice wine storage systems. I've always wanted a wine cellar, but first, I'd love a yard...
These are very nice for a one-time use but as pointed out, certainly no substitute for a climate controlled cellar. Drink up and then put it back where it belongs.
