One word for you, son....IKEA. Good, plain curtains are hard to find. They tend to be overdone or overexpensive. Simple curtains that let the light in, are washable, and classically elegant CAN be found at West Elm and Pottery Barn, but no one can touch the Rosalinda Veck curtain. Large enough to hang in a loft window (118") and cheap enough to cover all ten of your windows, I use these curtains whenever I can and no one guesses IKEA. Problem? Yes, you have to go there to get them.... MGR

Cheers on the correction, and will do from now on. I am better with interiors than with html....
You know what's even cheaper than that? Twin flat sheets. I bought a load of them from Linens & Things and had mom sew over the top to measure. They are usually nicely hemmed at the bottom of the curtain (because that's the part of the sheet you pull up to your neck) and come in a variety of colors.
After sale and coupon, I got ten curtains for $80. One sheet = one panel. Simple, cheap and durable as hell.
Does anyone have a package of the Rosalinda Veck curtains? IKEA has discontinued them and I need one more package to completely cover the windows in my condo. Actually, all I need is one more panel.
If anyone has a panel or two they'd like to part with, please email me: catsnkids@sbcglobal.net or call: 818-763-7998.
THANKS!
Love IKEA!
West Elm really does have some great treatments. You can even change with the seasons~!
What's the best way to hang the curtains across a 22' span (an entire wall is windows/glass sliding doors)? The ceiling seems to be drywall.
For a dramatic ceiling to floor curtain that would span that size room, I would use a metal track on the ceiling and the curtains are attached to small ball bearing type things, and you can slide one whole panel across or have two or more and push them on whatever side of the room you choose. It is the hardware hospitals use when then shut off one bed from another. you can make the track straight across the room. contact: Ka-Lor in new jersey at 201 891 8077. you can also do a google search with the words: hospital curtain metal track.
