Red and green reads like Christmas in print, but in person there is nothing about our kitchen's green walls and red and green accents that looks like Christmas. The combination was not pre-meditated; we picked a green paint quickly, didn't fall in love with it, and then proceeded to fill the room with the red things we already owned and a few more we picked up along the way. The red accents have actually helped us to enjoy the imperfect green choice a bit more...
In these pics, against a green backdrop, you'll find:
- Thrift store bowl and estate sale felt runner; IKEA's Kallt red, green and black hand towels
- Red Brabantia containers
- Ceramic Turkish bowl
- L'econome paring knives
- Plant pots from A New Leaf (red/pink) and IKEA (two-tone green)
Wood counter tops and both black and white cabinets help neutralize the palette. So for now, we won't be repainting any time soon.
Anyone else have some semi-accidental color combos that you've really warmed up to?
