Two years ago we moved during the hottest week of the year and local stores actually sold out of fans - since then we've been much better about being prepared ahead of time. These deco table fans are colorful, oscillating, and currently on sale - a great combination in our opinion.

looks great but my experience with metal fans is that they can be noisy/rattle-ly. The plastic ones, tho ugly, seem much quieter

Cool, indeed. But I don't really want the fan to be a focal point in the room. Still, they're cheery and when it is too hot to sleep, even wrapped up in a wet towel with the fan on you, they could be pleasant.
