We can see why Oprah loves Chicago-based decorator Nate Berkus. He's as talented as he is charming. (Did you see his apartment in last month's Elle Decor? And that recent episode of Oprah during which he decorated an entire house for the homeowners in New Orleans?) Now, on top of his many accomplishments, Berkus is launching a new collection with HSN. While some products have already made their way on to the site, most won't be available until Monday, October 13. But we got a peek at some of the goods ahead of time.

I'm thrilled about that sofa! It's the first comfy plush looking one I've seen that looks like it could fit thru my impossibly tiny (23 inch wide) front door. I wonder if comes in other colors or fabric, I can see that velvet being a dog hair magnet.

EastVillageAmy - The sofa will be available in at least one other fabric: twill, in mushroom and khaki. (It's already up on the HSN site; I'm not sure if more will follow next week.) The velvet also comes in navy and forest.

How easy do you think it would be to replace the front legs? I really dislike that style and think it would look much better with something cleaner (even the backlegs would make a better piece).
Why is it that so many of the beautiful pieces I like have those odd spinning top legs?

He certainly is a nice piece of eye candy in a slightly creepy way. Linens & Things tried to hype him too. Last time I went in, all his stuff was on clearance. Perhaps he will do better with the curlers and housedress set on HSN. He certainly can make a lot of money there if they embrace him.
I was drawn to the "sofa" too But at 46" wide, it really is more of a double-wide chair. Double-wide... HSN... I made a funny... ~:o)

There's a love seat almost exactly like this in a catalog I have seen lately--either Pottery Barn or Crate & Barrel--with turned legs but no wheels, I think, but it is about $1500. Plus shipping, probably. But I bet it holds more than 250 lbs.
