The best part of this place, other than the fantastically good-natured owner, Claude and his sister, is that it's open daily. That's right. You can scope out deals, and there are many to be seen, whenever you please.

The goods range from severely tattered to mildly worn but if you're in to salvaging, and a bit clever with the tools, you can snag yourself some pretty sweet deals.

We didn't bother to haggle for our $.50 spoon rest, but we got the feeling bargaining is welcome.

We're especially fond of the massive lab tables stacked out back and large collection of lab bottles....not so keen on the creepy yellow storage containers with ventilation slots...

Oh, and we almost forgot to mention that if you're local, Claude will deliver!

Those yellow containers are used in animal facilities to house lab rats and mice. The slots are where the water bottles go.
I'd be a little cautious buying old laboratory surplus - not the animal containers, except for the creep factor, but the lab benches and stools. A lot of very dangerous stuff might have been spilled on there (I'm thinking mercury specifically, but the possibilities are nearly endless). Having worked in a good number of biotech and chemistry labs, I'd give a hearty caveat emptor to anyone who buys them - and please don't use them for food prep.
