Sometimes we come home to discover that our dog has crawled onto our bed and gathered the bedding around her to make a nest. While completely ignoring the two dog beds that she rotates between during her required 22 hours of sleep a day.
So we're wondering if this Eco-Friendly Fleece Pet Bed would make her happy. We love the bright colors that can be mixed and matched, the fact that it's eco-friendly since it's made of recycled plastic, and that the purchase would be supporting a crafty entrepreneur working out of her home sewing room in Georgia.

My dogs seem to avoid the plastic fleece. I have a fleece throw blanket for use on chilly winter nights in front of the TV (heat pumps are *expensive* to run). If I leave it on the sofa, the dogs will push it out of their way and curl up on the leather of the sofa instead.

i wonder why that is, boomer. i've been waiting for a chance to share my excitement that we are adopting two puppies, brother (Hajime Saito from Rurouni Kenshin) and sister (Sayumi), from a friend who can't keep any of them. this way they will know their mommy (hoshiko) and daddy (ali). i am planning to kennel/crate train them - but what all should i do to the house to be ready for them the first weekend of august?

And the pic had to feature a Dachshund no less. I'm a sucker for that particular breed as I grew up with the buggers and most of ours love polar fleece and will curl up in them for hours on end. :-)

elizabeth - both my dogs are rescue dots. My Bichon mix was 8 months and my Jack Russell (and Corgi!) mix was 15 months when I adopted them. It's been a long time since I've been through puppy-hood.
Find out if your breed has a propensity for chewing would be one good suggestion. Peeko, my Bichon destroyed a wool rug, Well, he only ate the fringe but I couldn't even give it away after that. Goodwill took it...
So if you have nice rugs you might want to put them out of harm's way for a few months. ;->

I stumbled upon your blog searching for a link to Annie's Sweatshop.
Just wanted to let you know that I purchased one of these beds. It's awesome! My dog absolutely loves it, no chewing, but she's no longer a puppy. If you have a puppy you have to accept the fact that anything is fair game when it comes to chewing, fleece, cotton, your socks or furniture. Anywho, I highly reccomend the bed. Good luck!
