Over at our sister site, The Kitchn,
it's gardening month. We couldn't resist throwing our little garden update in the mix. Small first steps, but we're so pleased with our
first second attempt that we had to share...
This was our first whole-hearted garden experiment and it's been a true learning experience. While our guides and books have been great, there's nothing like getting your hands in the dirt. We've learned a lot (namely that zucchini plants are HUGE and need TONS of room) and have been keeping a running list of things to remember for our next round of planting.
As we type, we're crunching our tasty (albeit little...we finally understand the concept of thinning!) carrots and we'll be cooking up our second round of beets for dinner. The recent heat wave killed off some of our baby strawberries, but the peppers and tomatoes are thriving....best summer ever!
