Greetings all, I'd like some advice for a new table lamp... My bedroom area has no overhead lighting and is particularly dark when trying to find two of the same socks in the morning. I'd like something on the modern side and was looking at the Pablo Tube Top:
But am very open to other ideas. Anyone seen a cool table lamp lately they'd like to share?

I'm fond of the Miss K by Philippe Starck, with it's metallic looking shade and adjustable dimmer. It now comes in several colors too.

I've been looking for a room divider (nee bookcase); I've seen a few here, and never remembered to inquire where they were from. There's this one from Pottery Barn - follow the link in my name - and it looks like what I'm looking for, but out of the budget. Now I've seem there, does anybody have a cheaper (and smaller) option in mind?

Nic, have you seen the expedit bookcase at IKEA?

I am also in the midst of a bookcase/bookshelf melodrama! I saw expedit in person, but it looked very cheap. I like the lines of some west elm bookcases like the Parsons tower (which I just checked and is no longer available online, ouch), but I don't want to pay $500, and I don't want something that screams west elm. I keep trying the apartment in the mission but it's always no dice for me. Any other suggestions for a wooden, large-ish bookshelf/case that's quality but not too expensive?? I'm overdosing on craigslsit.

No, I hadn't seen it - thanks! I'll check it out in person @ the Ikea in San Diego this week. I'm leary, though: everything @ Ikea feels really flimsy whenever I touch it. I need something with some more substane. In the end, I suppose I could make it myself.
